El Guerrouj Gold Medal, 1500M & 5000M
Nike Zoom Miler
One of the greatest distance runners of all time, Morocco's El Guerrouj became the first man since Paavo Nurmi in 1924 to win both the 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters at one Games with his triumph at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

He has won the last two 1,500 meters at the World Championships and owns the world record in the 1,500 and 2,000 meters and the mile. He also has run the second-fastest 3,000 meters in history.

Guerrouj was unbeaten in 2002, winning 11 races at the mile or 1,500 meters and was named IAAF Male Athlete of the Year for 2001 and 2002, becoming the first man to win Athlete of the Year titles in consecutive years since the award was created in 1988.
